The New Black Gold

In a future, where people didn't ask for this and stuff gets messed up. Only one man can stop a fiasco. Armed with his sunglasses (which he wears indoors) and a trench coat, Adam Jenson is that man, or what ever he counts as.

Okay. So I watched the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided E3 trailer and was like "I need to play Human Revolution" so I did. I downloaded Human Revolution and within 2 days, it was completed so here is the review. As you can probably tell from the opening it is set in the future where robotics allow people to get replacement limbs, say a robotic arm and these limbs can get "augmented".

*SPOILERS.... Kinda.... Maybe if you haven't played the game.*
You start out the game as human Adam Jenson, the chief of security of Sarif Industries. Sarif Industries gets attacked by some "Augs" (people with robotic limbs) and Adam is left in a near death state while love interest Megan and her team are killed.

After about 6 months Jenson is back, with about 75% of him now being robotic and there is a problem, someone has broken into a Sarif Industries factory. You've got to deal with this. After that you are tasked with tracking the people who attacked Sarif Industries.
*END OF SPOILERS.*

So with that out of the way, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a fun game. Its got a nice art style, a nice black and gold title hence the title. Its a 1st person shooter with cover mechanics. Its mission based with open world aspects.

You choose how you want to do a mission. Want to do a pacifist run? You can do none lethal take downs and use a stun gun and a tranq gun (you'll also get an achievement!). Want to go in guns blazing? Sure, there are a lot of ways to kill things. Whether it be with an AR, stabbing someone with your elbow blades or pushing them off a ledge you can kill people in funny and creative ways. There is even a side mission where you have to kill someone by making it look like an accident.

The game is not without its flaws though. The game does have a hard mode which I do not recommend doing on your first run through (I regret nothing though). Also the bosses are done poorly and some times you have to exploit the game. There is also a section which makes it almost impossible to complete a boss fight.

Overall I'd say this game is worth buying and picking up, especially since it is really cheap now. You won't regret it. And until next time.

This weeks song is "The New Black Gold". I know I featured this last week but I didn't think I'd review this game. So.... yea. Here it is again. Enjoy?
